Offenders have hit a number of homes, making off with valuables, food, clothing and keys.
Residents were inside their Dumaresq St home before 12.20am on Tuesday when thieves climbed in through a bathroom window and stole a wallet and set of car keys.
They fled after rifling through the contents of the car.
Similarly, food, clothing, CDs and a kitchen appliance were taken from a Hiddens St home after offenders entered through a bathroom window.
Between Monday afternoon and Tuesday night, a motorbike was stolen from inside a Helen Ave garage.
Police have been told the owners secured the bike in the garage to shield it from an approaching storm before it was stolen.
A TV was stolen from a Hargave St home, while break-ins and thwarted attempts have also been recorded in Glass St, Norton Ave and Donnelly St.
Armidale Inspector Chris McKinnon said local residents needed to be vigilant about home security.
“Be very conscious of security in and around the house,” Inspector McKinnon said.
“Despite the weather, make sure that the windows are properly secured and report any suspicious activity to police straight away.”
