The University of New England mountain bike track played host to the recent inaugural Schools Invitational Mountain Bike Challenge, with more than 80 students across the region competing.

New England Mountain Bikers Club vice president David Harris said riders came came from as far as Dorrigo to compete in a series of junior and senior races.
“O’Connor Catholic College took out the honours on the day as the overall team winners,” he said.
“It was an amazing day of racing and congratulations to all of the school teams who rode in the event.”
The event was a first for the New England but it is hoped to make it an annual event.
Other results included: U13 female Jemima Davis; U13 male Nick Chisholm; U15 female Isabella Hosking; U15 male Fergus McQueen; U17 female Katherine Hosking; U17 male Michael Harris; U19 female Nicole Lye; U19 male Jack Feltham.
