But the spoils belonged to Dave Mason, of Buladelah, who was the clear winner of the Professional Bull Riders’ Tamworth Invitational Cup, with an average score of 259.5.
His score put Mason well clear of Amercian rider Matt Triplett, who stormed home into second place with an average score of 177.5, closely followed by Singleton rider Cody Heffernan (175.5) and Lachlan Richardson (172).
The event, featuring 20 of the nation’s elite riders, was held at the Australian Equine and Livestock Events Centre.
