The mother of a newborn boy left in a western Sydney stormwater drain has been identified as a 20-year-old Quakers Hill woman.
Police said she was found after hospital record checks and doorknocks.
"She is currently assisting police with inquiries at Blacktown Police Station," police said in a statement.
The boy, who was found in a stormwater drain along a bike track next to the M7, remains in a serious but stable condition at the Children's Hospital at Westmead.
"Investigations into the matter are continuing," police said.
