But he’s not a struggling artist trying to make a name for himself.
In fact, all the money raised through gigs and album sales goes directly to national initiative beyondblue, supporting people with depression and anxiety.
Mr Burden is a strong supporter of the foundation as people close to him have been directly affected by the mental illness.
“I recently went to a funeral of a man that spent his entire life doing amazing things for children with disabilities and it inspired me to leave the same kind of legacy when eventually I do go,” Mr Burden said.
“I figured the only thing I had to offer was my music and so I decided to donate all the money I make from both CD sales and gigs to charity.”
He has been playing guitar and singing for about 19 years and performs laid-back acoustic covers and originals, adapting well-known tunes with his own influences.
Mr Burden struggles to balance shift work at Worsley with his performances, but BHP Billiton have agreed to match whatever he raises before the new financial year.
His next gig will be at the Moody Cow Brewery in the Ferguson Valley on November 30.
