A teenage learner driver and her mother were killed when their car was involved in a crash with another vehicle in the state's central west, police say.

The 16-year-old girl and her 39-year-old mother died at the scene of the two-car crash in Molong, about 35 kilometres north-west of Orange, on Tuesday afternoon.
A woman, her newborn baby and one-year-old child in the other vehicle were not injured.
Police said the 16-year-old girl was behind the wheel of the Ford Laser and was driving along Shades Creek Road with her mother in the passenger's seat when their vehicle and a Subaru Outback collided at the intersection with Euchareena Road about 5pm.
Officers from the Canobolas Local Area Command are investigating the cause of the crash, and have seized both vehicles for examination.
Meanwhile, a motorcyclist has died after crashing into the back of a parked truck in Sydney's south-west overnight.
The rider was travelling north along Englorie Park Drive at Glen Alpine about 11.30pm when he rounded a right-hand bend and struck the truck, police said.
The 28-year-old man from Marrickville died at the scene.
Reports into both accidents will be prepared for the coroner.
