James McDonald says Contributer can let him finish the carnival on a high in the Emirates Stakes at Flemington on Saturday. The first horse imported to Australia by Godolphin made a great start here with a classy win in the David Jones Cup. "He goes back from 2000 metres to a mile, which would usually be a concern, but not for him," McDonald said. "He has a good turn of foot and gets in well at the weights.  It might be the only time he gets into a handicap with a weight like this because he is very smart. When you consider he drops a couple of kilos and has drawn well [in two]. There is a lot to like about him." McDonald started the Melbourne spring by winning the Caulfield Guineas on Shooting To Win and Contributer could give him the perfect finish. "It has been a good carnival but another group1 would be nice and he is the right horse," he said.
