I want to congratulate the Tamworth Liquor Accord, local police and licensees on the 30 per cent reduction in alcohol-fuelled violence in the Tamworth CBD.

The statistics speak for themselves, and they are remarkable given that these measures have been in place less than a year. 

Tamworth Liquor Accord has led the way in NSW with the voluntary code of conduct – a range of measures including no shots to be served, and 12:30am lockouts on all nights.

Culture change always takes time, we know that, but this whole-community approach is the right approach.

We live in a great part of the world. Let’s work hard together to keep it that way. Congratulations to all.
