The championships saw clubs from the New England area and the Mid North Coast come together and compete for both team and champion girl honours.
In the teams event, teams of eight perform their syllabus in synchronisation.
That was where Tamworth really excelled.
“Tamworth entered three ladies’ teams, one in each division, and all three were awarded places,” teacher Tara Bartlett said.
The novice ladies’ team led the way, taking out their section.
It’s the second year in a row that club instructor Jenny Murray has achieved this success.
In the open ladies’ section, teacher Danya Bevan coached the ladies to third.
“The open ladies’ teams is a very tough section,” Bartlett said.
“In the three years that Dayna has been teaching these ladies, Tamworth has been awarded a place each year.”
The intermediate team meanwhile placed fifth out of 11.
The championships were also a chance for the ladies to qualify for the Ladies’ Nationals.
“This year, numerous club members achieved personal bests and their teachers couldn’t be prouder of these achievements,” Bartlett said.
In the beginner ladies, Nicole Sullivan was a finalist, while Kerrie Jones and Janelle Walsh reached the semi-finals.
Stephanie Cameron and Sarah Hopkins both made finals in the novice ladies, with Emma Sim and Roslyn Sullivan making it through to the semi-finals while Michelle Higgerson and Courtney Hopkins qualified for the finals and Melanie Sullivan and Kristen Ball the semi-finals in the intermediate.
The open section was split into age divisions. In the U33 Elise Raulston, Emma Bricknell and Tara Bartlett were all finalists. Kym Barry and Tracy Johnston were likewise in the Over 33, while Shirley Lockwood got through in the 43 & Over division.
In the 53 & Over, Murray placed third with Susan Raulston reaching the semi-finals.
