There were plenty of thrills and also a few spills but no riders were hurt as the huge crowd watched over 100 lightning-fast three-lap races over plenty of divisions and age groups.
While 86 riders attended, many of them rode different bikes in different classes throughout the day and night.
Blayney rider Tom Duggan took out the Pro Open Championships at the end of the night, with Kurri Kurri rider Rochelle Brady winning the women’s Pro Open.
Local riders fared well, especially Gunnedah riders, with two in the Pro Open final and more in the junior events.
Marty McNamara was just off the mark and picked up third behind Duggan in the main event while Fletcher Tydd rode great heats to make the final but couldn’t place.
Tydd’s younger brother Kurtis also had a good day on the bike but missed the final.
In the support events, Gunnedah’s Jordan Dall placed second in the 500cc slider class.
Cameron Donald from Tamworth placed second in the 125/250cc Junior Class and fellow Tamworthian Damon Elms placed second in the 9-11 years 85cc class.
Singleton’s Brody Nowland won the 250cc Pro Championship while two Queenslanders cleaned up the others.
Zaine Kennedy won the U19 title while Jarrod Brook won the 450cc championship.
Paul Slade and Mark Donald provided riders with a perfect track for competition, with many riders travelling from interstate including from South Australia to ride the track.
Tamworth Motorcycle Club will now focus on hosting the 2014 Australian Long Track titles scheduled to be held on November 22 at the Tamworth Showground.
