A 76-year-old woman has been charged with stabbing her daughter in the stomach in a house Sydney's south.

Police said the woman and her daughter, 39, started arguing about 9pm on Friday at home in Orana Avenue in Kirrawee.
The older woman allegedly stabbed her daughter in the stomach with a knife.
Police were called to the scene and arrested the 76-year-old.
She was charged with reckless wounding and was granted bail to appear in Sutherland Local Court in November.
The injured woman was taken to St George Hospital, where she underwent surgery. She is in a stable condition.
