The first race for the season drew almost 100 participants, with 52 entering the handicap long course event, 20 the short course and another 20 the kids’ race.
Anthony Heeney had the fastest male time, completing the 200m swim-10km bike-2km run course in 28.21minutes.
Sophie wasn’t far behind him and was the fastest female with 29.12 minutes.
Tamworth Triathlon Club publicity officer Daniel Nash said there were a lot of first- timers and a really good atmosphere.
“It was a fun day.
“A lot of people commented after the race o nhow much fun they had and how the afternoon had a great community feel about it,” Nash said.
“Next weekend (this weekend) a number of Tamworth Triathlon Club members will be competing in Port Maquarie in the half ironman so this weeks club race was a good way to test all their gear out.”
The next club race is on October 25.
