Stacpoole claimed 6-36 as the Bulls’ chase wilted and they were all out for 113 in pursuit of the Redbacks’ 6-175.
Adam Greentree had earlier skittled the Bulls’ top order.
The top order did the job with the bat for the Redbacks, with Michael Rixon hitting 20, Glenn Lewington 44 and Adam Mansfield 37.
Between them and Kris Halloran (18), it saw them pass 120.
“We set a nice platform,” Mansfield said.
“You see the shine off the new ball and it makes it easier to bat in the middle order.”
One of two new English recruits, Mansfield –who will also keep for the Redbacks – was happy to finally get out in the middle, even if it was a lot hotter than he’s accustomed to.
“It was good to finally get out there.
“We’ve (he and fellow recruit Jack Beaumont) been here for two weeks.”
He said going out to bat they were probably looking at around 150.
“Anything over that would be a bonus,” he said.
“We knew chasing would be hard.
“175 was a superb score.”
Beaumont also chipped in with a valuable 16no down the order.
Greentree (3-20) then did what he does best and had the Bulls’ chase in disarray at 3-17.
“Doomer bowled really well first up. He got the first three,” Mansfield said.
“If we start off well with the ball we’ve got some good spinners.”
Adam Jones (47) and keeper Matt Everett (16) staged a mini revival with a 59-run fourth wicket partnership, but Mansfield said they knew if they could keep the pressure up it would tell, which it did.
Their innings tailed away pretty quickly after Jones’s dismissal.
Nathan Lambley at 10 with 17 was the only batsman below him to make double figures.
“We let ourselves down a bit with the bat,” Everett said.
He said Jones batted well, but he was about the only one.
“Full credit to them (Norths) – they bowled well,” he said.
Greentree was good early and he thought Beaumont (1-14) showed some promise.
They were fairly happy coming off at the change of innings.
“I think we bowled well,” Everett said.
“We are probably a couple of bowlers short.”
Brad Jenkinson (1-22) was good on debut. Jones (1-29) also produced a handy spell.
“We were pretty confident with our batting lineup we could chase that,” Everett said.
But then, after recovering from that “bad start”, they just got tied down in the middle overs, which built the pressure up.
