Only a couple of days after driving World Wide to a long-overdue country cups win at Port Macquarie for the unwell Bede Murray, Australia's winningest hoop heads to the central western plains to partner First Class Ticket in the $40,000 feature event, the Coonamble Cup.

Allan Denham's bonny mare ran second in the cup last year with NSW's other decorated bush jockey, Greg Ryan, in the saddle.

Denham has called on the red-hot Thompson for the ride this year.

"It would be about three years since I've been back [at Coonamble]," Thompson said.

"I'd say she'll be hard to beat. She ran second in the race last year and has been racing very consistently. Allan is pretty happy with her and I'm sure she'll give me a great ride."

And if he can reproduce his vigour on World Wide in the $105,000 Port Macquarie Cup then First Class Ticket will take a power of beating.

Thompson was at his masterful best on World Wide, sinking Chris Waller's Campanology in a bobbing finish.

"I was very happy to win for Bede to spark him up," Thompson said.

Greg Ryan scores a fabulous five at Mudgee race meeting

Not to be outdone, Greg Ryan has been toasting his own little slice of history after riding the entire card at Mudgee's small five race non-TAB program last weekend.

The Dubbo-based Ryan was legged aboard all five favourites on the day and produced nerveless rides on each to achieve the rare feat.

Think it was a first for Ryan? It probably comes as no surprise he rode the entire card at a Parkes meeting in 2006.

Doctor Oh, a $1.70 pop for Coonabarabran trainer Wayne Martyn, sped to a narrow win in the last to write Ryan another entry in the record books.
