• Guyra artist Anna Henderson was announced the winner of the 2014 Norvill Art Prize at Murrurundi last Friday. The Norvill Art Prize is one of the largest privately funded landscape prizes in Australia.
• The beautiful country gardens of ‘Serpentine station’ and ‘One Tree’ on the Point Lookout road will be open to the public on the weekend of October 18 and 19. All funds raised will be in support of the Armidale Rowing Club for much needed equipment and facilities maintenance.
8.50am: Time for a touch of the mystical?
• Moree will be hosting celebrated psychic Charmaine Wilson on her third visit to the artesian water capital on November 2. Wilson was named winner of Australia's top psychic comp 'The One' in 2008 and will be coming to Moree as part of her Mystical Messages tour.
• Remember this guy? In keeping with the mystifying theme, Inverell will be hosting Sydney-based ghost hunter Jason King in coming weeks, on the lookout for a local spectre.

• While some may argue youngsters of the Techno-age are taking over one selfie at a time, The Leader says Pony Club is one of the enduring past times for regional kids.
