HE MIGHT not have Lawsy's celebrity or fleet of fancy cars but local radio identity Noel Victor can at least say he has one thing in common with the talkback legend.

Mr Victor was yesterday gifted a golden microphone, similar to John Laws's famous piece, in recognition of his 15 years on air at Tamworth's 88.9FM.
In a surprise gesture, 88.9FM staff presented Mr Victor with the microphone live on air during his last ever shift.
While he will continue working behind the scenes at the resurgent community radio station, Mr Victor's smooth tones and encyclopaedic knowledge of music will no longer grace the airwaves.
The likeable host was typically humble upon receiving the 1964 golden mic, which was mounted on granite.
"I've always felt the same sense of responsibility to be as good as I can on-air and to keep it as if I'm having a one-on-one conversation with each listener," Mr Victor said.
88.9FM operations manager George Frame paid tribute to Mr Victor's remarkable on-air career.
"To last 15 years on air is virtually unheard of in radio," Mr Frame said.
"We have a new breed of presenters coming through and we look forward to Noel's continued contribution to production and PR at the station."
Mr Victor will be replaced by local country music singer Jodie Crosby on his usual 9am to noon Tuesday shift.
It comes during an exciting period for the station, which has been through a successful re-branding exercise in recent months.
