Doughty finished on 33 points, three ahead of runner-up Adam Splithof who also finished the count strongly.
Stephen Fairless, who led the count at rounds 5 and 10, was hampered late in the year by a thumb injury and finished on 24, equal in third place with three-time winner Lachlan Rowling.
Fairless was rewarded for a consistent year in being named the Player’s Player, and was also presented with the Coach’s Award.
Josh McRae claimed the Best Backman.
Thomas Byrnes was unsurprisingly named the Rookie of the Year to go with his Leading Goal Scorer trophy and the TAFL Rookie of the Year Award as well.
The President’s Award was awarded to Michael Moffitt, who impressed with his courage and ability in his debut season.
After coupling strong on and off-field performances through the year, “hardman” Chris Wilson won the Green Ant.
Scott Nowland was presented with the Dream Team Cup and Josh McKenzie was named Clubperson of the Year.
A new award for 2014 was The Presti, with a perpetual trophy freshly donated to the club and designed to acknowledge the unsung heroes of a football club, the committed players that work hard towards team goals but often don’t get the accolades of the flashier players.
Shane Kilby was named the first winner of The Presti.
The Swans will host a grand final afternoon at the Oxley Bowling Club from 1pm tomorrow as their slightly more successful namesakes chase football’s biggest prize. All are welcome to attend.
