A shock first defeat at the hands of Dungowan in the major semi-final dumped the Jillaroos into Saturday’s do or die affair.
Bendemeer had some good momentum after overcoming Werris Creek in the minor last week and jumped to an 8-nil lead.
Stef Fullwood and Paris Knox crossed but, crucially, they could not kick the extra two on either try.
The Mountain Ladies were applying plenty of pressure on the ball, with Walcha unable to find its natural game.
Lacey Latham stepped up to finish off a try that had several sets of hands on it to bring it back to 8-6.
Bendy hit back, Samantha Duncan crossing with minutes to go and thought they had wrapped things up.
But as the hooter sounded Amanda Scott landed between the posts to put Walcha behind 12-10.
Rhiannon Moran nailed her second from two attempts to go into golden point.
Moran is leading the season goalkicking tally with 39 and is considered one of the best in either sex in the comp.
She is also leading up the points tally with 103 and the field goal tally with one.
She tried her best to add to that tally with at least six attempts just missing either side.
Golden goal went past the first five-minute period and well into the timeless second period, with the men still warming up well past their kick-off time.
Just as Walcha was again set up in front of goal, with Moran taking pot shots, a penalty for offside was awarded and Moran landed the goal for the victory and a spot in the grand final.
The ladies’ league tag grand final starts at 1.30pm at Kootingal Oval, followed by the men’s decider between Kootingal and Dungowan.
