Cat show will be full of felines with plenty of purrsonality

THE claws will be out today as the Tamworth & District Cat Club puts on a show for the most perfect puss in town.

Even the judges have a feline touch with judges Kitti Ruttan and Jay Bangle flying in from America to run their experienced eyes over the entrants.

“It’s great to have new judges who aren’t familiar with the cats,” said cat club secretary Chris Wiseman, the proud owner of seven Persians.

With sections for both the pedigree cats and their domestic counterparts, 150 cats will be together under one roof in the Tamworth High School Hall.

This will be the 39th show for the cat club and owners are encouraged to get into the theme with prizes awarded to the competitor with the “most inspirational feline fashion” theme.

The Leader put out the call last week for domestic cats and kittens, as numbers were slightly down this year but Chris says there will be plenty of competition for average moggies entered.

“We’ve got about 16 entrants in the domestic and companion section,” Chris said.

With prizes and rosettes up for grabs to the top cats in town, purr-sonality will win out on the day.
