Both had to fight hard for their wins with Moree outlasting Gunnedah 36-24 in the Tier 1 minor semi-final on Saturday and then the Magpies yesterday hanging on for a 32-27 win over Barraba in their Tier 2 clash.
The Magpies looked to be in control when fullback Pat Strong crossed for his third try of the game inside the first couple of minutes of the second half.
It pushed the Magpies out to a 29-6 advantage.
But the Rams produced a stunning fightback and scored three tries in 15 minutes to claw their way back to just two behind with a quarter of the game remaining.
Saturday was a bit of a different story with the Red Devils only trailing the Bulls by two at half-time.
The Bulls made their charge early in the second half scoring twice in the first 10 minutes to blow their lead out to 16 points.
