I received a letter from the council on August 20 about the “annual on site sewage management system fees.”
There is extra to the $10 on the septic tax and there are apparently 7000 septic tanks in the TRC area, which will give TRC $70,000 a year.
One inspection will cost $85, so that’s $595,000 a year to TRC. It’s $40 for each letter sent out, so there’s $280,000. And it’s 70c for every stamp, a cost of $4900. Plus, any re-inspections will be charged at $65 for each septic tank.
When we were part of Parry Shire, we had a surplus of $9 million. Whatever happened to that money?
With all this new money we could have a sewerage system put in Attunga and all the other villages in the TRC area that need a sewerage system.
