9am: The gates are open for Day 2 and the sun is shining!
It appears even the twittersphere is buzzing in the sunshine at the AgQuip sites this morning, with people taking to social media to welcome the warm weather.
The gates are open and despite the rain, crowds have descended on AgQuip for the first look at this year's event, turning the Gunnedah site into a sea of giant-sized machinery, umbrellas and Driza-Bones.
The weekend rain continued to fall on Monday and Tuesday, leaving mud on the boots and smiles on the faces of the first farmers through the gates.
Rural Press Events’ general manager Barry Harley said late last week organisers were hoping for rain over the weekend to inject some last-minute optimism into the crowds of up to 100,000 expected to visit over the three days of AgQuip.
