TAMWORTH BJP Physie performed well in its first competition of the year over the weekend when taking part in the Moree club’s 20th Anniversary Interclub competition.
TBJPP club publicity officer Tara Bartlett said the club had a “great relationship with the other clubs in our zone”.
“So it was very special to help Moree club celebrate this momentous occasion,” she said.
“Tamworth club did some celebrating of its own with Amelia Ballantine taking out first place and Maddison Train fifth place in the six years event.
“The seven years section saw nearly a clean sweep with Charlotte Bird 1st, Zoe Hartigan 2nd, Matilda Lees 3rd and Ella Murray 4th. In the eight-year-olds Tiffany Allomes was awarded 1st place, Davina Cameron and Montana Drury both were awarded 3rd place in opposing sections and Sophia Marshall 4th. In the nine years section Emily Ball achieved 2nd place. In the 11 years, 2nd place went to Jasintah Lloyd with Chloe Sullivan in 3rd place. Olivia Jeffrey and Sophia Cain were 3rd and 5th respectively in the 14 year age group.
Second place was taken out by both Tara Sullivan and Melissa Sweeney in the 16 year and 19-20 year age groups respectively.
“Tamworth wiped the floor in the Novice Ladies section with Courtney Hopkins 1st, Stephanie Cameron 2nd, Roslyn Sullivan 4th, Nicole Bird 5th and in an opposing novice ladies section Emma Sim came 5th. Sarah Hopkins was 2nd in the Beginner Ladies and Jenny Murray 1st in the Open Ladies section.
“In the Intermediate ladies section Kristin Ball was awarded 3rd and Mel Sullivan 4th.
“Club members have another chance to perform this weekend at the Coffs Harbour Interclub.
“The Coffs Interclub will be triple in size to Moree so should provide the girls with some diverse and strong competition.
“This will help them to prepare for national selections at the annual zone competition which is held in October this year in Tamworth.”
