A MOREE principal has been cleared of indecent assault allegations against a young girl in Moree.

Hilton Humphries walked free yesterday afternoon from Moree Local Court after he was acquitted of two counts following a two-day hearing.

8.20am: SAUSAGES were sizzling yesterday as judges converged to discover the tastiest meaty morsels in the New England.

POLICE have a number of strong leads after a man broke into a West Tamworth home and frightened an elderly woman.

Barbara Sims was targeted earlier this month when a man hit the Tingira St home just before 10pm.

The North West Slopes and Plains forecast from the Bureau of Meteorology:Partly cloudy. Areas of fog on the southern slopes early in the morning. Winds east to southeasterly 15 to 25 km/h tending east to northeasterly in the late evening. Overnight temperatures falling to between 1 and 6 with daytime temperatures reaching between 17 and 22.

The Northern Tablelands forecast from the Bureau of Meteorology: Partly cloudy. Areas of fog in the south early in the morning. The chance of showers in the north in the afternoon. Winds southeasterly 15 to 20 km/h turning easterly 15 to 25 km/h in the morning. Overnight temperatures falling to between minus 1 and 8 above zero with daytime temperatures reaching between 12 and 18.
