No carbon tax means no federal funding

August 7 2014 - 4:00am

I was delighted to read (NDL, August 5) that the Moree Solar Power Plant has received federal funding and will go ahead.

I congratulate the people of Moree for their vision and determination.

However, I’m wondering how many people realise that the “federal funding” (from the Australian Renewable Agency and the Clean Energy Finance Corporation), came from the proceeds of the late carbon tax.

With the abolition of the carbon tax, such funds will not be available for future projects in North West NSW.

It’s a real pity, as renewable

energy is the way of our future.
