Organisers said the Homeless Connect event at the TRECC was a huge success, with more than 650 guests filing through the doors, almost doubling the 350-figure from last year.
Tamworth Homeless Connect steering committee chairman Matthew Teece said though homelessness touched people from all walks of life and was widespread across the region, it was promising to see service providers working together for a solution.
The day included complimentary hair-cutting, birth certificates, food, face painting, Street Swags and Legal Aid, as well as health and employment hubs.
One attendee, Brian, said he was looking forward to getting his birth certificate, which would be important for identification.
Tamworth Family Support Services manager Sue Snook said the day was an opportunity to speak face- to-face with people at risk of homelessness, and to provide goodie bags of basic toiletries as well as excellent information.
