The Bullimbal community held their Jeans for Genes fundraiser on Wednesday and understands better than most the need to find a cure for genetic disorders and birth defects. Wednesday was also an open day for families, deputy principal Brett Pearson said.
The students had a fruitful day, planting a dozen trees for their new orchard to encourage healthy eating.
“Each class is contributing to a scarecrow for the garden,” Mr Pearson said.
All money raised on Jeans for Genes Day goes to the Children’s Medical Research Institute, which aims to find cures for birth defects, genetic disorders and cancer.
