The ABC has reported that Laith Samardali, 25, from Perth has pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening and abusive manner as well as aggravated assault. He was reportedly refused bail and will appear in Glasgow Sheriffs Court on Thursday to be sentenced.

It was reported that Laith flew into a rage after his brother was stopped just 39 seconds into his light heavyweight bout against Kennedy St Pierre of Mauritius at the Scottish Exhibition and Convention Centre. A witness told ABC that Samardali abused the referee and threw plastic bottles, one of which was said to have hit a child.

"I know he's a bit of a wild sort of dude," Australian welterweight Daniel Lewis told ABC News. "I know Jordan got TKO'd in round one and his family were a bit out of control."

Australian manager Alan Nicolson told ABC the team knew nothing about the incident.

"Nobody knows about it. Jordan hasn't mentioned it to any of us, so we're unaware of that at this present time.

"I didn't even know his brother was here."

Jordan Samardali remains in the Village, while his brother was being held in Glasgow's Barlinnie Prison.

It's the second incident to involve an Australian in 24 hours, after Fairfax Media revealed an athlete had been detained and charged with an alleged assault after a fight in the Village on Wednesday morning.
