MH17: Kiev says it will secure crash site by Thursday 'at the latest'

A blanket of pale smoke hung over Shakhtersk and jagged pillars of a darker, more ominous smoke rose from the downtown area, as the Ukrainian army attempted to steal control of the MH17 crash site – with Kiev optimistically declaring that the job would be done by Thursday "at the latest".
