The visit is part of his Through the Years World Tour and tickets for the Tamworth Regional Entertainment and Conference Centre concert on Sunday, January 25, will go on sale on Friday.
Rogers kicked off his sold-out 2011 Australian tour in Tamworth, his first visit coinciding with the devastating Queensland floods.
Festival manager Gavin Flanagan said he quickly launched his Change for Change initiative as a fundraiser for victims, also contributing $10,000 of his own towards disaster relief efforts.
He said he’d been keen to return to the city ever since, finding Tamworth audiences enthusiastic in their appreciation of his music and generous in their contributions to the disaster appeal.
“It’s fantastic to have an artist of Kenny’s calibre come back to our festival. He is an absolute legend and we can’t wait to see him perform at TRECC in January,” Mr Flanagan said.
Since his first visit he’s been honoured with an induction into the American Country Music Hall of Fame and the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award, his sixth Country Music Association Award.
Rogers has three Grammy awards and 18 American Music Awards among his vast collection, as well as worldwide sales of more than 120 million, making him one of the top 10 best-selling artists of all time.
Tickets for his TRECC show are available at www.tcmf.com.au or by phoning 6767 5300.
Next year’s Toyota Country Music Festival runs from Friday, January 16 to Sunday, January 25.
