North Companions, second in the NIF Premier League’s Southern Conference, host Northern Conference leaders Joeys FC in a big game for both clubs at Marius Street.

North Companions are second in the Southern Conference, just a point behind reigning premiers Tamworth FC but just two points above Oxley Vale Attunga.

Joeys FC are on top of the Northern Conference first grade ladder, a win above North Armidale Redmen.

East Armidale, who travel to Tamworth to tackle Tamworth FC at Johnson are fourth on the Northern table, just a point adrift of Demon Knights who are also headed to Tamworth for a showdown with Oxley Vale Attunga.

The OVA Mushies are at “home” on Scully Park for a second successive week.

“It’s great to have another game at Scully Park,” OVA coach Tim Coates said.

“We’re looking forward to playing there against DK.

“We played well in the second half against FC.

“It’s good to see the three Tamworth teams will be involved in the PL finals as well.”

Coates also handed out a plaudit to young referee Nick Brown for his first grade performance against FC.

“I thought he controlled the game well.

“It was a game that needed someone to do the right job and he did that.”
