The Great Gatsby-inspired Australian Wool Fashion Awards sashayed into Tamworth Town Hall last night.
The glamorous awards, hosted for the first time in Tamworth after more than three decades at Armidale, saw 23 models showing off 120 stunning garments.
Among the highlights was the spectacular opening parade, which saw models dance the charleston for a captivated crowd.
2013 Miss World Australia Erin Holland emceed the event and even sang the closing song – Young and Beautiful by Lana Del Rey.
As she sang, six models in stunning little black dresses swanned down the runway.
The night’s big winner was New Zealand-based knitwear designer Laurel Judd, who took home four awards with her Scooby Doo children’s wear.
Curtin University student Cordelia Gibbs also starred, winning the Young Designer Award and the Supreme Award.
“Ultimately, the night belonged to our wonderful Australian merino fibre and the hard working and often forgotten woolgrowers who are doing it tough with low commodity prices and drought,” organiser Liz Foster said.
