GETTING your gear off for a good cause wasn’t a hard ask for students of Robb College in Armidale, who lined up once again this year to pose in their birthday suits.

And while nude and skin-ny calendars first burst onto the social scene about 30 years ago, some baby-boomer parents are seeing their kids in the raw for the first time in a while.
Organising spokeswoman and law student, Jess Munro, said there was no shortage of volunteers again this year for the charity calendar – but for those who did the photo shoot on a Walcha property, it was pretty cold in the buff.
Many shots were taken at student Rosie Young’s family property Sallywood at Walcha, but there were also shoots around Armidale.
This year’s charity is the drought busting Buy-A-Bale but they’ve also supported CanAssist and AussieHelpers. So far they’ve sold about 250 calendars. All 12 months feature students like these four blokes with a cow, but there’s scenes on the side of hills, with sheep, horses, tractors and even bales of hay.
The cover shot has about 30 Robb College students in a mass nudie group shot on the lawn. The calendar was launched with a parents and students ball in May – where the cover shots were put under the hammer.
One mum apparently paid the top price of $750 to secure her child in a birthday suit for the family album, and the night raised about $6000 from parents purchasing framed prints.
Robb College, which has a high percentage of regional students at the University of New England, has so far raised $15,000 but hopes to get to $20,000.
“I think because Buy-a-Bale is such a great cause, everyone was pretty keen to do it,” Miss Munro said.
“Besides that, it’s a fun thing to do and everyone loves a bit of fun.”
Among the photographers to aim at nudes were Rosie Young and Bowral student Ellie Faulkner.
Even before the calendars went on sale, they were making big money for the worthy cause.
The calendars sell for $25 and are available online from www.buyabale.com.au
