AUTHORITIES have assured parents support will be available for children when school resumes at Inverell Public next week following the tragic death of one of its teachers.

Kindergarten teacher Caro Harding died in hospital in the early hours of last Saturday following a fiery light plane crash at Inverell, which left her husband Mark – a local GP – with severe burns. The school has posted a notice at the entrance to the school saying: “Thinking of Mrs Harding. A life that touched many, goes on forever.”

A NSW Department of Education and Communities spokesman said counselling would be available to students and staff when school returns on Monday and as necessary after that for individuals affected by the tragedy.

“The school extends its sympathy to Ms Harding’s family and friends,” the spokesman said.

“Ms Harding was a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher who was highly valued by the school and the community.”
