After fielding three calls in 24 hours from the scammers, Tamworth solicitor Leonie Hansen decided to go public amid fears some locals might be duped.
A fireball lit up the sky on Thursday night, with reports of a "massive shooting star” flooding in from Victoria and New South Wales.
Callers to talkback radio stations reported seeing a bright object travelling east to north about 9.45pm. Some callers said they initially thought it was a burning plane

8AM: BENDEMEER residents awoke to the news of another building fire in their district yesterday morning.
At 5am, Tamworth Fire and Rescue NSW crews and Bendemeer Rural Fire Service were called to the old golf clubhouse on Airlie Rd near the village.
