Christopher Tanevski has pleaded guilty to driving under the influence, using an unsafe or unserviceable vehicle on the road, possessing a prohibited drug, driving recklessly or in a manner dangerous and never licensed to drive on the road.
The 40-year-old from Tweed Heads was spotted behind the wheel of a maroon Ford Falcon on Wednesday night.
The Oxley Target Action Group were patrolling Calala Ln at Calala when they saw sparks coming from the car.
They began following the car which was sliding in and out of its lane and the oncoming traffic.
Police said they had been called to the area after several reports of motorists being run off the road by the vehicle in question.
A short time later police found the vehicle parked in the driveway of a Nemingha home.
Tanevski was arrested at the scene before he was taken to Tamworth Police Station and charged with several offences.
He was refused bail and fronted Tamworth Local Court yesterday ((FRI)) where he pleaded guilty to all five charges.
Tanevski made no application for bail and it was formally refused by Magistrate Michael Holmes.
He will remain behind bars until he is sentenced later this month.
