Co-ordinated by Northern Tablelands Local Land Services (LLS), the project will see 28 landholder groups from across the region take part, with the first groups collecting their 1080 poison baits in the Warrane and Boorolong districts.
Northern Tablelands LLS is urging as many landholders as possible to get involved to maximise the effectiveness of the campaign.
“If we can co-ordinate our aerial baiting program with widespread ground baiting by landholders, we can knock out far more foxes and wild dogs than if we were working in isolation,” the Northern Tablelands LLS invasive species and plant team leader Mark Tarrant said.
