Tamworth’s Sarah Adams will rack up a total of 10 Urban concerts after this tour, seeing him twice in Sydney, followed by Narrabri’s Collins Park show.
She’s met him three times and is holding out hope of winning another meet-and-greet on this tour.
Miss Adams said she looked forward to seeing Urban’s shows on this tour because his album, Fuse, was so different to his previous ones.
“I’m really excited to hear how it goes live, with lots of electronic sounds on this album,” she said.
Miss Adams said she loved that Urban was “so down to earth”.
“His fans come first and always have,” she said.
“I love his talent – he’s such an incredible guitar player.”
Her love for Urban has meant Miss Adams has converted a couple of friends and she’s taking more friends to Narrabri who haven’t seen him live yet.
This has been aided by his appearance on The Voice Australia’s first season.
“He’s got more of a relationship with Australia now,” Miss Adams said.
“He’s got a bigger name with the younger people because they all watch these shows. I noticed more younger people at his shows on the last tour.”
The Narrabri concert in Collins Park has sold more than 5500 tickets so far, with 95 per cent of category 1 reserved seating sold out and ticket sales evenly spread between B and C categories.
Crossing Theatre manager Trent Bruinsma said they were now at the final stages of planning and operations to “bump in” to the site on Monday, June 23.
“Members of council’s water services and community facilities department have been busy preparing the site and the other associated infrastructure – the designated parking areas and upgrading internal pathways, so everyone has access and everyone is safe,” he said.
“Tent city will start being set up on June 24 ready for people arriving on Friday.”
The June 27 outdoor concert is sure to be a chilly affair and Mr Bruinsma said ticketholders were welcome to bring blankets and large coats to keep warm.
Gates open at 5.30pm, along with the bars and food outlets, and it is expected tickets will be available on the day.
The official after party at The Crossing Theatre, featuring Viper Creek Band and Narrabri locals West And Public and The Three-Legged Pig Dogs, is selling quickly.
