TEENAGE Tamworth golfer Nathan Mann takes a five shot lead into the final two rounds of the Tamworth Golf Club’s Choices Club Championship this weekend.
Mann shot a second round 72 to be five shots ahead of a group of players including Ben Lockwood, club president Andrew Graham and John Trevaskis.
It followed his first round 70.
The final two rounds will be played this Saturday and Sunday.
o Meanwhile some 131 lady golfers will tee it up on the first two days of the North and North West District Ladies Golf Association Open Tournament at Moree on June 3 and 4.
Players from 23 clubs and as far as New Zealand will play in the championships over three days, said N&NWDLGA secretary Di Boulton.
She said the first two days are for the individual Open championship the third day, June 5, is the Foursome Championship for which 108 players have nominated.
“The Tournament has the continuing sponsorship of Toyota Finance and the North West Toyota Dealers from Tamworth, Gunnedah, Quirindi, Narrabri and Moree,” she said.
“There are three Divisions, Division One handicaps scratch to 19, Division Two handicaps 20 to 25 and Division Three handicaps 26 to 45. Foursomes are in two Divisions, scratch to 22 and 23 to 45.”
She also asked all players to report to the starters 20 minutes prior to their starting time at Moree.
