Pooches of all shapes and sizes grabbed their leads and their owners to hot foot it to No.1 Oval for the annual Million Paws Walk.
With tails wagging, the four-legged friends set off on the long and short walks, even be it a few that walked their masters.
“It was a good crowd that’s all I know,” RSPCA Tamworth president Brian Pierce said after the fun was over.
“We had lots of breeds and some of the dogs had lost of breeds as well.
“There were some very stunning dogs, all kinds of variety.”
Big or small they came in numbers, perfectly groomed for the day out – some dressed with a coat, a flower collar and even a bow, too.
The annual walk had a serious side, aiming to raise awareness and funds for the RSPCA – the very organisation that’s all for animals.
And Mr Pierce made the dollar promise “what happens in town, stays in town” to help fight animal cruelty.
“We’re able to raise a few bob and the money we raise, every cent of it stays in Tamworth for the various programs we run for the animals,” he said.
“If people are aware of the RSPCA and what we do then subconsciously they become aware of the need to treat their animals properly.”
And it wasn’t only the canines that got to soak up the fun – the boys from BackTrack put on a display for the crowd, so too did Best Mates Dog Training, and all the while local musicians kept the tunes coming.
