The library is hosting representatives from the Department of Fair Trading and the Tamworth Family Relationship Centre every day this week as part of its Law Week activities.
The stand is being manned by a staff member from each department from 11am to 1pm each day so people can collect information and ask any questions they may have.
This week’s Law Week theme is “Law and Justice in Your Community”, which has included the release by the Law Society of NSW of a Know Your Rights guide.
Kylie Boyraz, who was at the stand earlier this week, said they had a lot of information available on family separation and parenting programs recognised in the court system.
On the fair trading side, Dale Higgerson said they could assist with information on consumer/trader disputes, as well as offering pamphlets and guides on everything from entering a retirement village to buying a new car.
Last night at the library, Patrick O’Halloran from RJ O’Halloran and Co Lawyers presented a talk on wills and estates.
Librarian Amanda Burke said the library participated each year in Law Week activities and was also using the opportunity to promote its own legal resources, which are always available under the Find Legal Answers Took Kit banner.
