FAMILY, friends and colleagues gathered to farewell former Tamworth veterinarian Dr Martin Pearson yesterday  at St Peter’s Anglican Church.

Dr Pearson was cycling near Inglewood in Queensland when he was struck by a hit-and-run driver on Anzac Day.

He was living in Queensland at the time of his death and working as the superintendent of the University of Queensland’s Veterinary Medical Centre at the Gatton campus.

Dr Pearson’s wife, Sandy, his brother Dr John Pearson, former colleague Dr Peter Best and cycling colleagues all spoke of the man Dr Pearson was and how much he will be missed.

His children, Elizabeth and James, were also present and assisted as pall bearers.

A visual presentation on Dr Pearson’s life accompanied the funeral service, which was led by Reverend Rod Chiswell.
