Throughout the week “locals” continued to do well, with Tamworth trainer Holly Johnson placing first in the Senior Horse Trail on Wednesday riding Daydreaming and first in the Junior Horse Trail aboard Graceful Prophecy, organiser Nicky Moss-Smith.
“She then proceeded to win the Lope for Cancer that very same evening on the same horse,” Moss Smith said.
“Graceful Prophecy is owned by Mariella Winisdoerffer.
“Mariella rode Graceful Prophecy on Thursday in the Amateur Junior Horse Trail and took out first place.
“The AQHA would like to thank all the owners and riders for taking part in the Lope for Cancer.
“$1675 went to the highest bidder on Graceful Prophecy and $3350 was raised to go to cancer research.
“To all those great people who bid on the horses, successful or unsuccessful, thank you for taking part.
“It was a long nine days for all concerned and the support received for this event was overwhelming.
“Some of the finest quarter horses and competitors were on display and certainly did not disappoint.”
“Q14 certainly showed the versatility and trainability of the Australian Quarter Horse. Competitors came from all over Australia and they showed their horses to the best of their abilities and spent any free time catching up with friends,” Moss-Smith said.
“For some, this event is their annual holiday.
“Some of the 2014 Youth World Cup Team also took advantage of some extra experience before heading to the USA in July.”
The Western Performance classes continued on Thursday with English following on Friday, along with the Western Performance Horse sale.
“Although the entries in the sale were low, the quality of the lots presented were outstanding with every purchaser ecstatic with their new horse,” Moss-Smith said.
“The AQHA would like to thank all the vendors for ensuring the quality and presentation of each individual, and their expectations of meeting the market.
“Your continued support of this sale is greatly appreciated. Congratulations to the purchasers of these lovely animals, and we look forward to seeing you in the year ahead enjoying them.
“Preparations now begin for Q15.
“We thank all our competitors, valued sponsors and traders without whom a show of this magnitude would not be possible.”
