Boat to Bush’s Glenda Dutton sources seafood through the Newcastle Co-op and had Tamworth residents swarming over the eskies this week.
“We’ve been flat out,” she said.
“We thought we’d get a bit more than last year, but we sold out of snapper on the first day. We took two trucks and a trailer and we couldn’t fit anything else in.”
Mrs Dutton, from Currabubula, said people were becoming more educated about their seafood from watching programs like My Kitchen Rules and MasterChef.
“They’re asking more specifically for fish and starting to become connoisseurs,” she said.
Easter favourites this year are snapper, prawns, flathead, calamari, bugs and sand crabs.
“I saw all these crabs and thought we wouldn’t sell them, but they’ve been going out the door,” she said.
Mrs Dutton said Tasmanian salmon was also always popular.
