We now see Barry O’Farrell, our premier, having to resign because he has been revealed as a liar. And this over something as trivial as trying to hide a bottle of wine. 

We ordinary folk have no problem with a wine bottle, but our masters cannot even handle such simple tasks.

What hope have we got when they start on the important stuff? 

Many of us have known that our government has been retailing a long list of lies about their approaches to mining and CSG extraction, along with the overwhelming distribution of the state’s finances to all manner of strange necessities in the metropolis. 

The regions and rural folk have been shown the rough end of many pineapples lately.

Angela Martin’s incisive Soapbox (April 15) revealed yet another facet of the ways in which our masters have conducted their decidedly slippery considerations about issues crucial to rural and regional living conditions.

Ms Martin’s reference to politicians at a masquerade ball can now be completed with a conga-line of pollies traipsing in and out of ICAC. 

But who is paying the piper, and will we find out before our trust in government is completely destroyed?
