As an example, poor crutchings made 240 pence per pound (roughly $500/per kilo for pen sweepings). 

But it did no good. Since that time, every government in power has used terms such as, “In these uncertain times”, “We need to tighten our belts”, “The previous government has left the books in tatters”, “One man’s raise is another man’s job”, “We had no idea that the budget was in such poor repair” or “Our politicians are entitled to a raise as they work extremely hard”. 

Never have they said “We will make your life better, the quality of life under our rule will be much, much, better”. But never have I heard a politician, a prime minister, no less, say, I am going to introduce the maternity leave because I think my daughters will be advantaged by it in the future.

 Abbott is going to introduce, into the welfare system, a facility that will cost $5.5 billion just for the benefit of his daughters. 

Nepotism at its obscene best. 

Now Hockey wants to raise the age for entitlement of the aged pension to 70 years. 

This is what business does. When things tighten they go for the weakest of the staff, those who have little, or no voice, and sack them. 

Always the low man on the totem pole, never do they cut wages, entitlements, expenses or lunches to the top echelon. 

For Abbott and Hockey to get this obscene law passed he is going to have to show some mettle which neither of them have. They are going to have to pass a law that requires all businesses to keep on their payroll all employees until they reach the age of 70 years.
