Federal Communications Minister Malcolm Turnbull has refused to be drawn on his views of the revamp of Mrs Macquarie's Point, despite being a member of high-profile conservation group Friends of Sydney Harbour.

A week ago the Royal Botanic Gardens Trust released a plan proposing new toilets, a viewing platform and a hotel in the nearby Domain to stimulate tourist growth.
The plan has been attacked by Friends of Sydney Harbour co-founder Ian Kiernan, who says the headlands are "sacred" and shouldn't be turned into parking lots and tourist routes.
But on Sunday afternoon, Mr Turnbull would not reveal if he agreed with Mr Kiernan on the master plan.
"I really haven't been into that in enough detail to make a considered comment on it," Mr Turnbull said.
"I'm certainly aware of it and I'll be looking at it and discussing it with other people in government and the community.
"I can't give you an off-the-cuff appraisal."
Mr Kiernan has previously worked with Mr Turnbull to oppose the controversial Sydney Harbour floating heliport project, which was later scrapped.
But on this issue Mr Turnbull would only give a vague answer, suggesting the "prince of Potts Point" Paul Keating would make a better candidate for comment.
"There's some very strong views about it, but again I don't want to go off with an off-the-cuff comment on what is clearly a very serious proposal," he said.
"It requires - it demands - a very serious and considered response" Mr Turnbull added.
On Sunday Fairfax Media revealed NSW Labor would block car and bus access to the final 100 metres of Mrs Macquaries Road, regenerating bush in the area in a bid to resist commercialisation.
