Andrew and Karen Cruickshank were looking forward to showing Brayden, three, and his younger brother Cooper, six months, the fun of the show.
Mrs Cruickshank said they didn’t go to the show every year and hadn’t been for about four years – but now they wanted their young sons to experience the excitement of the show.
“I really wanted Brayden to go on the dodgems,” she said.
“I like the cake decorating in the pavilion.”
Mr Cruickshank said he was looking forward to seeing the vegetables and the “enormous pumpkins”.
When asked whether they’d chance their luck on some of the wilder rides at the show this year, he smiled and said: “Karen’s favourite ride is the cha-cha.”
The outing was “mainly just for Brayden – it’s his first time at the show”.
