Both the Royals and Thunder teams were littered with AFL-listed players on the weekend, but it wasn't necessary those linked to West Coast and Fremantle who determined the outcome of the game.

Freddie Clutterbuck, who some believe should be on an AFL list, was outstanding for the Royals, with two goals and 23 touches, while Steven Payne also booted a couple of majors and 25 disposals. East Perth Craig Wulff had with 29, including five inside 50 entries. Not a bad day's work.

The Royals did benefit from the affiliated Eagles players though, with Brad Sheppard getting 28 touches and Adam Carter 31.

Injuries to Fremantle-listed players didn't help the Thunder's cause. Max Duffy looked in good touch before he suffered a shoulder injury and Tanner Smith also did a hamstring.

But eyes will be on Colin Sylvia this week, who failed to finish out the game because of an expected quad strain.

On a brighter note, ruckman Zac Clarke showed that he's not too far away, with 30 hit-outs, 13 touches and a goal, while Josh Simpson looks like he has added a lot more running to his game, collecting 25 disposals from different parts of the ground.

The reigning premier West Perth left its run at East Fremantle too late, coming back from 22 points down at the last break to lose by three.

The Sharks got plenty of run from Brock and Rory O'Brien, as well as Jamie McNamara and Brad Dalziell - all with 25 touches or more.

The Falcons' Shane Nelson had a game-high 37 disposals, while Marc Crisp had 10 inside 50 entries from his 18 touches.

Subiaco kept South Fremantle to just three goals in the second half in setting up its 38 point win.

While the Lions defence was very good, the attack also seemed to gel well, with Rhys Waters kicking five goals, Matthew Boland four and Shane Yarran three. Chris Phelan produced a lot of run and picked up 32 touches.

The Bulldogs had more inside 50s than the Lions and more possessions. But one of the stats the Dogs will look to improve in is tackles, putting on just 50 to the Lions 67.

Is Perth the real deal, or did Claremont have a bad day out?

Demons supporters will be hoping that the 65-point thumping of the Tigers was not just a one-off.

But if they continue to share the ball around and can hold sides down to 37 inside 50s, they'll win their share of games this season/

Claremont had only two players - Ryan Neats (25) and Andrew Foster (27) - to have more than 18 disposals; the Demons had nine, led by Cam Manuel with 27.
