The man known as Flogger has had his beard for 35 years, but on March 29 he’ll part company with it, along with his hair, with the aim of raising $10,000 for prostate and testicular cancer research.
His big shave will occur at the Tamworth City Bowling Club at 6pm, with, very appropriately, the team from Lion’s Mane wielding the scissors and clippers.
He’ll also be donating some of his hair to Look Good, Feel Better, an organisation that provides wigs and make-up tips to female cancer patients.
Mr McFarlane’s keen to get donations ticking over in the lead-up to his big shave, with an account set up through Northern Inland Credit Union. Called Phill’s Shave (Look Good Feel Better), the account’s number is 71747.
